Happy November sis!
It’s Harvest time!
Do you know it all starts with a seed?
We are all, every one of us, farmers. We scatter spiritual seeds across life. Whether its grace, joy, love, anger, hatred, generosity, or peace… The sun rises, and these seeds will bear fruit at harvest time. What fruit they produce is determined by what kind of seeds they are.
So what kind of seed are you sowing?
Are you nurturing them?
Are you cultivating them?
Tending to them often?
Many of us expect a harvest in November but we don’t see it.
Some of us have been facing fears head-on this year and consistency and discipline are our new best friends.
So you’re probably experiencing a harvest season! Good job! Keep showing up!
So why do some of us reap a harvest and some of us don’t?
Some of us are stuck.
Some of us feel like a hamster on a wheel.
Insanity seems to be our best friend.
What’s my problem you may be asking?
“The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”- Uknown
Let me help you out for a moment sis!
I’m going to coach you through this post! Know it’s not a coincidence you stumbled upon this life-giving post!
Here are some questions to ask yourself to help you grow!
What kind of seed(s) are you sowing?
Faith or Fear?
Trusting God or A controlling behavior?
Knowledge or Pride?
Comparison or Confidence?
Discipline or Laziness?
Self-control or Compulsive?
Truth or lies?
Word of God or Media?
Gossiping or building others up?
Planning or Procrastination?
Believing or doubting?
I know sis these are some tough things to hear. But I’m all about truth here. I desire you to grow and be all that God has called you to be.
Are you investing in yourself? It may look like showing up to church weekly, or your therapy sessions, or support groups, resting more, working out, waking up earlier, reading your bible, maybe it’s journalling, and/or attending conferences that will empower you and help you grow.
The most important thing is being consistent in order to see progress and growth.
Are you building your community? Being intentional and finding mentors, sponsors, or friends that will pour into you. They will help you when doubt creeps in and times get hard.
You matter. Your goals and dreams matter. God put them there for a reason. Just don’t let them sit on a bookshelf and collect dust!
Most importantly remember without God, we can’t bear good fruit. We cannot do it on our own strength.
A man reaps what he sows. If we want to see a harvest we must put in the work.
So let me ask you some more questions.
What is God revealing to you today?
What area of your life needs to improve or change?
What area is no longer serving you this season?
What toxic thing or person is keeping you from your harvest?
What is one thing you want to stop doing?
One thing you want to start doing?
Sis, God doesn't condemn us. He is a gentle Abba. But He does convict us so that we can grow, heal, and be set free from what holds us back. Most important be all that He has called us to be. Greatness!
I know you know what you are supposed to do. I believe in you sis. You're not alone.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Now here are some truths from the word of God. The word of God transforms! The word of God challenges us, grows us, and equips us!
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7 KJV
But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 2 Corinthians 9:6 KJV
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Galatians 6:8 KJV
Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. Job 4:8 KJV
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20 NIV
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 NIV
